Partners

Co-operatives North East sees partnership working as essential, ensuring: good links within the region that subsequently provides regional intelligence and good communication channels; transfer of knowledge and information, assisting with events; and importantly, spreading the co-operative word!
As such, we work closely with a number of national, regional and local organisations. We are members of Co-operatives UK - the national trade body that campaigns for co-operation and works to promote, develop and unite co-operative enterprises. We work with and are supported by The Co-operative Enterprise Hub, which aims to expand the co-operative economy by creating strong, ethically-led businesses with a deep sense of social responsibility. The Hub offers a package of advice, training and finance to help new and existing co-operatives become more sustainable businesses.
At a regional and local level we work with the North East Social Enterprise Partnership, local Council’s for Voluntary Services and Voluntary Development Agencies, Business Link, Locality and VONNE. We also work closely with the region’s universities. In particular, we have recently completed a project led by Newcastle University Business School, ‘Valuing Social Values’ which developed a Decision Support Tool to help Third Sector Organisation make more informed decisions about which social impact tool to use.
Co-operatives North East also acts as Secretariat to the North East Co-operative Delivery Consortium (NECDC).
